Minh had always been a quiet student, but everything changed when a new boy, Duy, joined his class in September. Duy was shy and wore old clothes; therefore, some classmates began to make fun of him. At first, the jokes seemed harmless, but they soon became offensive, and Duy started to skip lunch to avoid the group. Minh felt ashamed because he said nothing, even though he knew that cyberbullying was also spreading in the class chat. One evening, Minh read a cruel message about Duy's family, which made him realise that silence was a form of agreement. Despite his fear of becoming the next victim, he decided to stand up to the bullies. The next morning, he spoke to the class teacher, Ms Thuy, and showed her the messages. She thanked him for his courage; moreover, she promised to organise a campaign to raise awareness about bullying. During the campaign, students watched a short film about peer pressure and discussed why people hurt others. Many of them admitted that they had joined the jokes simply because they did not want to be the odd one out. As a result, several classmates apologised to Duy, and the group chat was closed. Although the change was slow, Duy gradually regained his self-confidence and began to hang out with Minh at lunch. Later, Ms Thuy told the class that one brave voice can encourage many others to speak. Minh smiled, because he finally understood that kindness is stronger than fear.
